ONE OF THE OLDEST HOUSES IN THE COUNTRY

This week we traveled up into Derbyshire to the the picturesque town of Bakewell, where the impressive, unaltered English country house Haddon Hall sits on the river wye.

Haddon Hall hold their popular Mercatum Artisan market in the months of November and December, showcasing a broad selection of carefully curated artisans and makers. You can find all the information you need about the history of Haddon and their Mercatum artisan markets on their website.

This is certainly one of our favourite venues to exhibit our handmade industrial style lamps.

Walking into Haddon is like stepping back in time...

With nine hundred years of history, beautiful architecture and original features such as leaded stained glass windows, stone walls, original furnishings such as a tapestry gifted by Henry Vlll when he visited Haddon, and of course the oldest remaining medieval kitchen in the country, it really is a breath taking experience and we highly recommend a visit.
